Gordon CookeGordon Cooke (27 y.o.), his fiancee Bianca Barrand and their baby girl Abigail, 8 months, were attacked at their Witbank smallholding rental cottage on Sunday 26th December. Cooke was shot in the neck and the .765 calibre bullet lodged in his spine. Doctors fear that he may be permanently paralysed from the neck down.

 

 

 

 

 

Martin Maree, smallholder of Kromdraai (near Witbank), was attacked and shot in the stomach with an .765 pistol, the 26th December. The attacker invaded his homestead at about 02:50 and pushed the gun-barrel against his stomach, and simply fired a shot. Mr Maree is under treatment at the Life Kosmos Hospital in Witbank.

Jannie BritsJannie Brits (41 anni), prison warden at the Witbank Correctional Centre, the 17th Dec. was attacked and shot in the stomach, in his house on the prison terrain. Critically wounded he later passed away in hospital. He had a wife, a daughter (16) and son (13).
