AWB march in Ventersdorp, 15th October 1994

The Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) has always used the flags of the Boer Republics as its national flags, as well as other Boer independentist movements.
The flag of the RSA, the macrostate-empire originated by the capitalist war which deprived the Boer nation of its freedom shall not be used by the Boer independentists, because in contrast with it.
Nevertheless, the flag of RSA is remembered with affection by many whites Afrikaans-speaking, who believed to see their nation represented in it.
Certainly, the flag of RSA has scored so many years of history in southern Africa, and for decades has represented also the Boer nation, even in its state of subjection to foreign and international powers.

Modern Boer flag - AWB

Various versions of the RSA’s flag, transformed into a modern Boer flag, were carried out over the years. One version, a little known, has also been used by AWB albeit on rare occasions several years ago: in this case the flag of RSA was transformed into a modern Boer flag after it freeing itself by the foreign item (the British flag in the white horizontal strip), replaced by a Christian and nationalist, anti-capitalist and anti-Communist symbol (the Three-Sevens).
AfrikanervlagFor the record: much more recently (in the 2007) was carried out the so-called “Afrikanervlag” - modern Boer flag used by Kommandokorps - where instead of the British flag there is that of the Cape Rebels.
